30A Makes National Headlines

Florida’s Scenic Highway 30A has splashed its way across quite a few national headlines this month, including major feature articles in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Garden & Gun magazine.

On July 6, 2023, The New York Times ran a feature entitled “36 Hours in the Florida Panhandle,” by Shannon Sims, who reportedly spent her childhood summers vacationing along our sugary 30A shores

While the headline suggests its scope spans all of northwest Florida, the article only focuses on things to do (and to eat!) along Scenic 30A.

“This area has long been a beloved vacation spot for Southerners who drive each summer to swim in clear turquoise waters, play in powder-white sand and then slap a 30A bumper sticker on their cars,” wrote Sims.

Sims’ 36-hour dash down 30A definitely hits some great highlights, although we highly recommend slowing the pace down a bit, if you can! You’ll be glad you did.

A few days later, Garden & Gun magazine published their own suggestions, headlined, “30A 30 Ways” by Blane Bachelor. Bachelor outlines 30 different ways to explore our beach community and even raised a toast to our favorite brew, 30A Beach Blonde Ale by Grayton Beer Company.

“30A Beach Blonde Ale now appears in grocery stores all the way to Texas but remains a mainstay on local taps,” wrote Bachelor.

This week, Libertina Brand also wrote a piece for The New York Times about 30A’s exploding rentals market. In the article, “How a Once Unpaved Stretch of Highway Became One of Florida’s Hottest Rental Markets,” Libertina dives deep into the data to reveal some jaw-dropping trends.

“The area along Scenic Highway 30A has seen explosive growth over the past two decades, with the development of new communities with golf courses, bike trails, boutique stores, and high-end restaurants,” wrote Brand. While the article labels 30A as “The Hamptons of the South,” we don’t think there’s any need for comparison. Just come see for yourself: 30Arentals.com.
