ACME Ice House Opens in Seacrest

Acme Ice House in SeacrestTucked between Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach, Acme Ice House is the newest culinary addition to the bustling community known as The Village at Seacrest Beach.

The new restaurant’s vibe is decidedly warm, relaxed and absolutely all-American. The walls are clad in reclaimed wood from a vintage red barn, while the barn’s original tin roof lines the ceiling. Rows of large flat-screen TVs are fired-up and ready to showcase those big games, but the real eye-catcher here is the photographic artwork by local Tommy Crow. Tommy’s classic Rock-N-Roll-style portraits give Acme a vintage Americana feel, and yet with a contemporary edge. And just to add some patriotic punctuation, there’s a $21,000 Harley-Davidson suspended from the ceiling.

The restaurant’s design features theater-style kitchens, two wood-burning pizza ovens, and even a nickel grill especially contrived to sear the perfect burger (only 400 of these nickel grills have ever been made). Pizzas are always made-to-order with authentic Napoli-style ingredients, while the burgers are made with never-frozen, grass-fed, hormone-free beef ($7.50 for a single, $11 for a double, and $13.50 for a triple).

Acme’s gorgeous bar features a glass ice trough lined with cold beer of all varieties. Of course, they also serve a wide range of creative cocktails and quality wines, both by the glass and the bottle.
