Wondering what airport to fly into for 30A?
Wondering what airport to fly into for 30A?
So you want to visit Florida’s famous Scenic Highway 30A, including the beach resort towns of Seaside, Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, WaterColor, Watersound, Grayton Beach, and other 30A towns. Whether the beautiful beaches, world-class restaurants, stunning architecture, or the general laid-back vibe (or all of the above!) are calling your name, we’re here to help you make those vacation dreams become reality. And the first step to doing that is figuring out how you’re getting here. Below, we’re sharing details on nearby airports (and the cities that have direct flights), drive markets, and ground transportation. The beach is waiting for you.

How far is each airport from 30A?
Drive times below are measured from Seaside, near the middle of Scenic Highway 30A. 30A runs about 19 miles end to end, so where you’re staying matters — see the note under the table.
| Airport | Code | Miles from Seaside | Typical drive | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Northwest Florida Beaches International | ECP | 33 mi | 50–70 min | Closest airport to 30A’s east end. Commercial service. |
| Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport | VPS | 39 mi | 65–90 min | The most nonstop routes, but the drive crosses Destin on US-98. |
| Destin Executive Airport | DTS | 24 mi | 40–60 min | General aviation only — private planes and charters, no scheduled airlines. |
Staying at one end of 30A? The spread is real:
The low end of each range is a clear run. The high end is an ordinary busy afternoon. On summer Saturdays — the big vacation-rental turnover day — US-98 through Destin and Miramar Beach can add another 30–45 minutes on top of that, so if you’re flying out of VPS or DTS in July, give yourself two hours.
Source: Distances and free-flow drive times measured Seaside Central Square to each airport terminal using OpenStreetMap routing (OSRM), August 2026: ECP 33.1 mi / 53 min, VPS 39.0 mi / 67 min, DTS 23.6 mi / 43 min free-flow. The upper ends of the ranges are our local allowance for ordinary US-98 congestion, not measured figures.
