Alaqua Animal Refuge and Old Florida Fish House have teamed up with 20 local artists and businesses for the first-ever Alaqua Wreath Auction.

The hand-crafted wreaths, some of which will be packaged with bonus items and gift certificates, will go to the highest bidder during this festive fundraiser. Auctioneer Helen “Redd” Vizard, of Redd’s Fueling Station fame, will run the bidding, and 30A Gear will have their own wreath at the event.

All proceeds go to Alaqua Animal Refuge, which runs the area’s premier animal shelter located in Freeport, Florida, and is a strong advocate for the humane treatment of animals. They are currently involved in a campaign to raise funds for a dollar-for-dollar matching grant of up to $500,000, which comes to an end December 31. So, every dollar raised during the Wreath Auction will go twice as far to support Alaqua’s efforts to help animals in need.

The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, at Old Florida Fish House.
