Ready for an adventure? The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance and Northwest Florida State College have announced the spring season of their eco-tourism initiative, Discover Roads Less Traveled: Eco-Adventures of Walton County.

Led by local experts and professional naturalists, Discover Roads Less Traveled offers visitors and local residents opportunities to explore, discover and experience the diverse natural resources that make Walton County unique.

Hike around the wet prairies of local state parks. Paddle a rare coastal dune lake and have lunch at the famous Red Bar. Enjoy a paddle at Morrison Springs or take a tour along the Choctawhatchee River — two commonly overlooked natural gems of Walton County. In the mood for history? CBA will continue to offer the popular historical tour of the Coffeen Nature Preserve.

“The experiences we offer are geared towards anyone who wants to get outdoors and learn new things,” said CBA’s tour coordinator, Brandy Foley. “It is very enjoyable to go on an adventure with a naturalist and hear about the history or the formation of the area.”
