Bay Breeze Patio will host the fifth annual Eggs on the Beach Big Green Egg Grilling Competition September 29 at Seascape Resort in Miramar Beach. All proceeds from Eggs on the Beach benefit two local charities—The Fisher House of the Emerald Coast and Food for Thought.
As one of the official Big Green Egg Festivals held around the country, Eggs on the Beach will be a delicious event for the entire family.
To enhance the competition, non-profit organizations can register a cook team and registration fees will be waived.
“The non-profit category has been such a success that we keep increasing the prizes. Non-profit organizations are able to share information about their cause with tasters and the winning non-profits enjoy a donation toward their cause,” said Susan Kiley, co-owner of Bay Breeze Patio.
Cook Teams participate by creating bite size portions of their favorite recipes to be judged by the public as well as a celebrity judge.
The grand prize for the main event is a large Big Green Egg valued at $1,110. The grand prize for the most taster votes in the non-profit category is $3,000 toward the charity, followed by $2000 for the second-place non-profit team and $1000 for the third ranking non-profit team.
Honorary judges for the event are Chef, Author and Food Network personality James Briscione ; Cookbook author and former host of ABC’s internet and digital cable food series Brooke Parkhurst; Corporate Chef for Tony Chachere’s Jude Tauzin; Executive Chef and Partner at Volare Italian Ristorante Josh Moore; and Chef Dan Luizzi.
Taster tickets are on sale now with advance pricing of $32.50/adult, $14/child (age 11-17) and kids 10 and under are free.
