The eighth annual Emerald Coast Duck Regatta will take place Saturday, October 6, at The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Proceeds from the event will benefit Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast Volunteer Guild.
The event features fun activities for the whole family beginning at 10 a.m., including Abrakadoodle face painters, a scavenger hunt, Hula-Hoop contest, and access to the Baytowne Carousel for children 12 and under from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
During the Duck Regatta, approximately 3,000 numbered rubber duckies will race across the Lagoon at the Village of Baytowne Wharf.
Prizes will be awarded to the owners of the first ducks to cross the finish line, including a $5,000 first place prize! The duck race will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Ducks are available for adoption at the Sacred Heart Hospital Gift Shop in Miramar Beach, online or at Baytowne Wharf the day of the event.
Proceeds from this year’s Duck Regatta event will benefit the Sacred Heart Cancer Center. The Cancer Center is experiencing an unprecedented increase in the need for their patient treatment services. The Cancer Center will need to expand availability of its current treatment services to keep up with demand.
Make a donation of $10 or more to the Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast Guild to adopt a duck. Purchase one duckfor $10, three ducks for $27, six ducks for $50 or 12 ducks for $100.
Donations will help acquire additional chemotherapy chairs for patients and an additional chemotherapy preparation hood that keeps the clinician working with chemo medications safe and the medications sterile.
