Celebrate Coastal Dune Lake Appreciation month with a nature trail tour surrounding Western Lake in Grayton Beach State Park. Tours & Lectures available on October 5th and 19th with a start time of 9:00 AM sharp. These events are $10 and open to the public with park admission of $5/car. Donations to the Friends of Grayton Beach State Park are appreciated.
Grayton Beach State Park is located on Scenic Hwy. 30A between CR283 and Seaside. To register, please go to this link.
Tour is approximately 2 hours. The nature trail is approximately one mile long, through some sandy dunes, on hard-packed trails, and sometimes soggy forests. Wear appropriate footwear and bring water. Hat, sunscreen, camera, and binoculars are optional.

Come celebrate Coastal Dune Lake Appreciation month as the University of Florida’s Panhandle Outdoor Live team provides a guided walking tour of the nature trail surrounding Western Lake in Grayton Beach State Park. Join local Walton County Extension Agents to learn about our globally rare coastal dune lakes, their history, surrounding ecosystems, and local protections. Walk the nature trail through coastal habitats, including maritime hammocks, coastal scrub, salt marsh wetlands, and coastal forests. You can rent kayaks and canoes at the park is you wish to paddle the dune lake.
