Grayton Beer Co. Launches Franklin County Oyster Stout – Oct. 26

Grayton Beer Company continues its celebration of limited release beers with its Franklin County Oyster Stout Launch Party on October 26, 2017, from 4 to 9 p.m.

In addition to one free sample of the stout, guests will enjoy oysters on the half shell by 30A Oyster and live music by Continuum.

Oysters and Stouts have long been side by side, as the briny mollusks were enjoyed with a pub stout in 1800’s England. It soon became commonplace to filter and clear the brew with the calcium carbonate rich shells. Sometime later, an adventurous brewer tossed in the meat itself and a new style was born.

Located in Franklin County and part of the unique culture of the scenic panhandle, Apalachicola is true “Old Florida” and is home to the seafood-rich Apalachicola Bay at the mouth of the Apalachicola River, which accounts for over 90% of the state’s oyster production.

This is the Company’s homage to the sleepy, quaint fishing village of Apalachicola, Florida.

Usage of poblano and chipotle peppers, as well as fresh Florida lemon peel, interplay with a delicate hop aroma making this a complex, yet sessionable stout.

“The flavors we use to craft this stout are intended to be reminiscent of how you should enjoy an oyster, with a dash of hot sauce and a squeeze of lemon,” said Head Brewer Tyler White.
