The annual Great Blue Heron Festival is set to make waves on Saturday, April 26th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Old Florida Fish House on Eastern Lake in Seagrove Beach, Florida, and this year’s event brings an exciting new twist with YOLO Board as the official sponsor.

A celebration of local culture, nature, and community, the festival promises a lively atmosphere filled with live music from local musicians, food and drinks from favorite neighborhood spots like Coastside 30A, Beachy Bean, and the Old Florida Fish House, as well as a silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind items.

But the main event drawing early buzz is the debut of the YOLO “Ride The Rocket” 4-Person Team Paddle Race – a unique and high-energy competition featuring a specially designed paddleboard built for four adults paddling in sync. Part endurance, part teamwork, and all fun, the race is being hailed as both a thrilling spectator event and a team-building opportunity for local businesses and organizations.

Race details are as follows:

Registration: Opens at 9 a.m.
Race Start: 10 a.m.
Entry Fee: $35 per person / $140 per team
Prizes: All participants will receive a Blue Heron trucker hat and a YOLO swag bag, with an awards ceremony to follow the race.

In addition to the race, guests can enjoy pontoon boat tours offering scenic views of the Heron statue, further tying the event to its coastal namesake.

The festival will benefit Alaqua Animal Refuge, supporting its native wild animal programs, educational outreach, and wildlife rehabilitation efforts.

The festival venue, located at 33 Heron’s Watch Way, Santa Rosa Beach, is expected to draw both locals and visitors for this one-day-only event combining fun, philanthropy, and a strong sense of community.
