About Coffeen Nature Preserve:
You may — or may not — have noticed the small sign for Coffeen Nature Preserve located off U.S. Highway 98 on the west side of Santa Rosa Beach. Just west of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park and east of Tops’l Beach and Racquet Resort, is a 210-acre parcel of protected land full of area flora and fauna and history, including a World War II-era missile launch facility. (Seriously!)
Coffeen is open to the public for tours with reservations only. The tour includes four hiking trails along with a military history presentation for those interested in learning about the JB-2 launches and an opportunity to explore the bunkers, which are still in tact all these years later.
