Zac Brown rests on a ‘Made on 30A’ Design
Made On 30A furniture designs are currently on display at the 2012 Southern Living Farmhouse Restoration Idea House in Senoia, Georgia. Interior designer Paige Schnell and the team from Tracery Interiors in Rosemary Beach were tasked with decorating the renovated 1830’s farmhouse.
Bess Marshall of Tracery Interiors discovered Made on 30A’s owner and craftsman Brett Martin through a mutual friend and recruited him to design custom pieces for the front and back porches. With shape and size specifications and a vision, he went to work creating an 11-foot farm table and four benches for the front porch and a round wood table with cross leg base for the back porch. The furniture is made of reclaimed pine from renovated beach walkovers and decks.
“I was excited about the challenge of this project,” said Martin. “I had some loose dimensions and desired shape for the tables and that’s it. I built furniture that makes best of use of the space and emphasizes the wood’s nature beauty. I like to bring out the wood’s natural color or stay in natural tones such as grays and whites.”
Martin specializes in handcrafted, functional, one-of-a-kind furniture designs made from reclaimed wood. Each piece represents the casual and relaxed atmosphere of beach life while infusing a rustic yet refined sensibility. Ideal for indoor or outdoor use, his furniture designs range from benches and farm tables to headboards and end tables to porch swings and bed swings.
