My name is ZOKO, and I have been chosen as the Pet of the Week. I am about four years old, and I am a handsome, neutered, male Cocker Spaniel. Through no fault of my own, my previous owners surrendered me to this place called Alaqua Animal Refuge. For a while I was pretty sad, but I really do love it here at Alaqua. They take very good care of me, and they are all so kind.
“I am afraid we have ourselves a full-blown mystery going on at Alaqua. And the mystery is that no one can explain why I am still here.”
Seriously, I am sweet, well behaved, and always conduct myself in a gentlemanly fashion. I am pretty good looking, too, if I do say so myself. I am friendly to visitors, and greet them with a friendly wag of my tail. I love to play fetch and I will retrieve the ball as long as someone throws it for me. I mean, I would be an Olympic contender if they had a fetch competition!
I also keep my kennel nice and tidy and the staff and volunteers love me. I am in excellent health, for a young man of my age. I have a teeny tiny cataract, but I can still see very well. You’ll see when you try to play fetch with me — nothing slips past me!
Please, friends, help us solve this mystery as to why a fellow as adorable as me is still waiting for a family and a home. I still have a lot of good years to devote to my family. I am certain you are out there. If my family is found, there is an amazing reward for them. They will be awarded a loving companion; one that will love them unconditionally. I will be their partner in life and will provide years of loyal devotion. Come and visit me, and ask the nice people at Alaqua if we can play fetch in the field.
