The 2016 Nashville Songwriters Florida Sunshine Tour has partnered with Bud & Alley’s, Emerald Grande at Harborwalk Village, The Bay,The Hub and Boardwalk Beach Resort to bring the finest professional country music songwriters to the beautiful beaches of Northwest Florida. The tour will be held monthly from April-August, 2016.
Bud & Alley’s restaurant will host the first stop on the tour on Tuesday, April 5, at 8 p.m., with Nashville-based songwriters and musicians Dave Pahanish and Hugh Mitchell.
The tour is free of charge, open to the public, and will offer guests the opportunity to listen to a diverse line-up of Nashville’s most esteemed songwriters and recording artists whose songs come to life with their incredible vocal and musical talent.
Guests will have an opportunity to enjoy the hits heard on the radio every day performed ‘acoustically live in concert’ by the songwriters who wrote them.
The songwriters will also provide guests with the ‘story behind the songs’, life experiences, and a peek behind the scenes in Nashville in a series of casual, intimate performances hosted at spectacular venues set against the breathtaking backdrop of Scenic Highway 30A, Santa Rosa Beach, Destin, and Panama City Beach.
Meet-and-greets and other special guest amenities will follow each performance.
Dave Pahanish is an American singer songwriter from Pittsburgh. He played two years of football at Waynesburg University in South Western Pennsylvania before leaving school and following his musical passion.
Dave has written several mainstream country hits recorded by such artists as Keith Urban (Without You), Toby Keith (American Ride), Jimmy Wayne, Tim McGraw, Collin Raye and others.
As a performing songwriter, Dave has toured extensively through the years winning fans with his unique style of writing, singing, guitar playing and performing. He’s a two-year veteran of the Country Throwdown Tour which included Willie Nelson, Eric Church, Little Big Town, Jamie Johnson, Eric Paslay, Montgomery Gentry, Eli Young Band and many others.
With a fresh perspective on the art of sound and the craft of melody, Hugh Mitchell is raising the stakes with his latest batch of songs. Due out in May, his sophomore album lends an ear to a style that is both orchestral and Southern. A style that captures the gritty, intimate, and soulful writing that Hugh is known for.
Born in California, raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Hugh attributes his hometown with his wide array of influences and interests.
“My first real good paying gig was playing guitar in Pentecostal Black Gospel Choirs and churches. Then we duked it out in bars with bands. Then we became idealistic and started writing songs,” said Hugh.
Hugh has come a long way from the clever singer/songwriter that moved to Nashville and put together a rock band. Laid-back, long-haired, his Southern roots undoubtedly come through. It resonates when you give it a listen… and you should.
Hugh has just recorded his latest record with former Wilco drummer, Ken Coomer. 2016 Hugh is touring the southeast opening for artists and groups such as The Willie Sugarcanes, as well as recording two more projects with Ken Coomer.
