A sensory orchestration of nature’s shifting geometric patterns, dynamic colors and tactile textures by Dallas-based photographers Janet and Steve Thomas is on display until June 1st at The Hidden Lantern Gallery.
Modern Montage’s pursuit is to replicate the visual rhythms of nature. Organic and uncluttered, exact yet abstracted, each work is a study of nature. When presented as a collection, the total manifestation speaks so accurately of nature’s preciseness and our ability to observe one exquisite detail, amongst a multitude of layers.
Janet and Steve Thomas
Janet’s previous role as a travel magazine editor demanded a sense for streamlined sophistication and an eye not only for detail, but for what compels. It is this background, coupled with inherent taste, that has shaped her aesthetic.
Meanwhile, Steve’s analytical work as a forensic accountant sets the balance in the collaboration that leads to such successful images — it is as though both the right brain and left brain are equally present and visible in each photograph.
