Two new retailers and a casual dining restaurant will open in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin in the coming months.
Kinnucan’s, Ophelia Swimwear and Everkrisp will open in the first half of 2017.
Kinnucan’s, the Auburn, Alabama-based apparel and active lifestyle store, will open in Grand Boulevard this summer. Founded in 1987, Kinnucan’s carries many specialty brands and goods that you can’t find in other places. Patagonia, Columbia, Yeti and Southern Marsh are a few of the national brands they carry.
The company’s president, Bobby Lake, said as they have continued to expand, they knew they needed to be in the Florida panhandle.
“As Kinnucan’s has continued to expand, we have known not being in the panhandle of Florida was a large hole in our regional presence,” said the company’s president Bobby Lake. When we looked around at the markets, South Walton was the obvious choice for our first coastal location.
“South Walton was the obvious choice for our first location,” he said.
Grand Boulevard was the only center in the area that matched perfectly with Kinnucan’s approach to guest experience, he added.
Kinnucan’s will be located across the street from Boulevard 10 Cinema in the building which will also house Pottery Barn and is currently under construction.
Everkrisp is an exciting new restaurant concept created by the husband and wife team of Brendan and Ashley McMahon.
They describe their menu of fresh salads and build-your-own grain bowls as “farm meets fast food.”
The McMahon’s have developed an enthusiastic following at their Destin store, which opened earlier this year. Grand Boulevard will be their second location.
Because the food is locally sourced, the menu is seasonal. It is also very creative. One example of a grain bowl that has made its way onto the menu is the Spicy Nola made of wild rice, brown rice, spinach, shrimp, spicy broccoli, roasted peppers, cherry tomatoes, corn, scallions, spiced citrus and vinaigrette. The Snowbird has quinoa, feta, radish, beets, chicken, apples, pistachios, kale, hard-boiled egg and balsamic pistachio dressing.
“Walton County is in need of more restaurants and more healthy options as well,” said Brendan McMahon. “We know we can reach many more of our loyal guests and those that enjoy Walton County but haven’t ventured to our Destin location. We feel it’s the perfect intersection of our clientele that believe in the product we put forward.”

The South Walton-based boutique offers the latest in design and fit to suit any style or shape.
The also offer beautiful clothing perfect for the ultimate lifestyle at the beach, including dresses, rompers, jumpsuits and flowing kaftans.
Beach Riot, Cleobella, Flynn Skye, LoveShackFancy and Vitamin A are some of the national labels sold at Ophelia. The store also carries fun and flirty beach life accessories.
“Ophelia is thrilled to soon extend its designer swimwear expertise to Grand Boulevard in Miramar Beach,” Von Hoene said. “Over the past eight years Ophelia has proven to be 30A’s premiere designer swimsuit boutique and is excited for the opportunity to expand its reach closer to loyal Destin customers as well as serve a larger area of Florida’s gorgeous panhandle.
She has garnered a large following since opening her first two locations in Seaside and Seacrest. Grand Boulevard will be Van Hoene’s third location.
Ophelia opens this spring and will be located next door to Lilly Pulitzer.
