YOLO Board is back with Paddle Palooza, a celebration of community and a way of saying thanks to the YOLO Tribe for their immense support and participation. The 11th annual event will take place Saturday morning, September 28, 2019.
The festivities will be held at North Beach Tortilla Co. on the beautiful Choctawhatchee Bay and will begin with a 1- and 3-mile stand up paddleboard race, followed by a kids SUP race, and a team Grande paddle board race.
The event will include giveaways, t-shirts, and refreshments. Entry to race is $40/person and each participant will receive an event t-shirt, lunch and beverages. The event is free for spectators, with food and beverages available for purchase.
Defined by a lighthearted and festive atmosphere, the series allows participants of all skill levels to enjoy being on the water and offers the perfect venue for spectators to relax and cheer on their favorite teams.
Paddlers should bring their own boards for the one- and three-mile races. Kids boards and Grande boards (for 5- and 6-man teams) will be provided.
The Grande race will be a timed race, with teams taking turns on the course.
Below is the schedule of events:
- 8:00am: Registration
- 9:00am: 1- and 4-mile races
- 10:00am: Kids race
- 10:30am: Grande race
30A Radio will once again emcee this local tradition. Coastal Skin Surgery and Dermatology will even be on-hand to provide skin cancer check ups! Grayton Beer Company will provide racers with refreshments and NBTC will serve up a delicious treat.
