From L to R: Blues Traveler, Foghat and the Outlaws

With some of the biggest names in country and rock music and the area’s best seafood restaurants bringing so much to the table already, it’s no doubt that the 2014 Panama City Beach Seafood and Music Festival will be a blast for all ages.

seafoodThe fun doesn’t end there; the festival also includes a lineup of waterfront and fishing activities at Capt. Anderson’s Marina, kids’ activities, a 5K run and more.

The main event takes place October 17 and 18, with classic favorites Blues Traveler, Foghat and the Outlaws on Friday evening and headliner The Band Perry on Saturday night. Other performances include the Dylan Altman Blues Band, Heritage, Little Honey, the Andy Velo Band, the Dave Pahanish Band, the Adam Craig Band and Josh Thompson.

“We are excited about this year’s lineup of activities,” said Lance Allison, president and CEO of the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce. “Awareness of our local fishing heritage and businesses such as Capt. Anderson’s, as well as waterfront fishing opportunities for locals and visitors are key components to the PCB Seafood and Music Festival. This year’s event is going to be great for kids and adults as there will be educational opportunities, kids’ fishing, and a free fishing tournament. There is something for everyone to enjoy.”

The Seafood and Music Festival has once again teamed up with local fishing experts at Capt. Anderson’s Marina for exciting, free waterfront activities for all ages the weekend before the festival.

The following will take place October 10 and 11:

  • Bay County Fishing Heritage exhibition

  • Kids’ waterfront activities with crab races, face painting, treasure hunt and more

  • Kids’ fishing clinic and dockside fishing experience

  • Waterfront Market and Anderson’s Seafood Market

  • Grand Lagoon Fishing Classic tournament

“One thing that’s new this year is that our tournament is called the Grand Lagoon Fishing Classic,” said Michelle Gerth, associate manager at Capt. Anderson’s Marina. “A lot of fish species had their seasons cut short this fall. Since we have a lack of ‘big’ fish to shoot for, there are a dozen listed fish species available during that time that anglers can weigh in—up to three fish each for a combined weight. The winners will get tickets to the seafood festival the next weekend.”
