We spoke to Ragan Smith to find out her favorite eats and places to explore on 30A.
1. Where do you go when you need some quality me-time?
There are a few places I find myself visiting often when I need me-time. I love a good book, magazine, and a quiet place to retrieve and reboot. I suggest a stroll on some of the trails along 30A. There are so many little lakes and beautiful spots to take in and savor the moment.
Oftentimes, I take a stroll and find myself enjoying a drink and charcuterie board at one of our local spots. The Wine Bar, The Gathering Spot (Watercolor), and Grayton Brewpub are a few of my go-to spots heading back to Blue Mountain Beach.
2. What’s your favorite local event?
By far Digital Graffiti! It is always right before my Birthday, and makes the month of May feel like a total CELEBRATION!
3. What’s your favorite dessert on 30A?
Oh boy, this is such a hard one! We have so many amazing options. The first dessert that came to mind though is a little off 30A (Grand Boulevard). The Craft Bar had an AMAZING Banana Foster’s.
4. What’s your favorite way to spend time outdoors?
I have to say, being a boy mom, I spend a fair amount of time enjoying the beauty that 30A has to offer.
You will find us hitting the surf, taking walks in Seaside, kayaking, playing a round of golf, most of all just being mesmerized daily by the ever-changing emerald coast.
5. What makes living at the beach so special?
We wake up where most save to vacation! The beach is steps away, and we are always able to make new friends that return year after year.
BONUS: What local restaurant/ park/ activity is underrated or underappreciated?
I have a food truck obsession…boy did I hit the jackpot when I became friends with Chef Stanley at Stanley’s Sweet Treats! If you are a local or visiting, check their social media pages to find out where to indulge in this heavenly goodness! I highly recommend the Softshell BLT, side of smokehouse mac and cheese, finished with “OMG” or pineapple upside-down cake!
