Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is once again pairing great gumbo with first-rate family fun at the Gulf Coast’s favorite winter food event.

The 25th Annual Sandestin Gumbo Festival will be held on Friday and Saturday, February 14-15 at The Village of Baytowne Wharf.

People from all over the southeast are once again expected to join in the festivities during the extended Presidents Day weekend. The tradition kicks-off on Friday, February 14th at Marina Bar & Grill with a seafood boil starting at 2 p.m. Then on Saturday, February 15th guests will enjoy live Zydeco music from Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe, family activities and the best gumbo cook-off on the Gulf Coast (Noon – 4PM).

“The Gumbo Festival is one of our longest running and most enjoyable food events,” said Lanier Motes, Event Manager for the Village of Baytowne Wharf. “Restaurants from the Emerald Coast serve up their best gumbo, hoping to take home the ‘Area’s Best’ and ‘People’s Choice’ awards.”

Festival guests can vote for “People’s Choice” awards in gumbo and become eligible for raffle items from the participating restaurants. After those honors are given, judges will also announce a “Best Display” winner. The awards ceremony will begin at approximately 4 PM. This year, the net event proceeds will benefit Sandestin Foundation for Kids.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 on event day.

Participants of the Sandestin Gumbo Festival will be included in the event’s marketing package, have an opportunity to win radio and print advertising through our sponsors, and award winners will also receive prize money.
