On Monday, March 9, the fairways of Camp Creek Golf Course will set the stage for something bigger than birdies and bragging rights. The Sonder Project is proud to announce its inaugural golf tournament, The Sonder Open, a premier day of play designed to bring together golfers, community leaders, and local businesses for a cause that reaches far beyond the greens of 30A.
Hosted at Watersound Club’s award-winning Camp Creek course, the Sonder Open promises a morning steeped in both camaraderie and championship-caliber golf. The day begins with a complimentary breakfast and a Bloody Mary bar. Teams will be outfitted with personal golf carts courtesy of Pool Captains before making their way across 18 stunning holes, complete with on-course contests hosted by Stallworth that are sure to keep the competition lively.
After the final drive and the last putt drops, players will gather for The Final Putt After Party and Awards Celebration, presented by Auralum Signs. Expect cocktails, light bites, and a celebratory awards presentation that caps off a day where every swing supports something meaningful.
More than just a tournament, the Sonder Open is a celebration of connection, generosity, and global impact.
All proceeds directly support The Sonder Project’s mission to empower and transform lives across Africa.
Founded in 2015 in Santa Rosa Beach, The Sonder Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advancing access to clean water, education, and economic opportunity. As of January 2026, the organization has drilled 76 wells providing clean water to nearly 70,000 people. It sponsors more than 200 students to attend school annually, has distributed textbooks to over 1,500 students, and operates a thriving community farm supporting more than 1,000 individuals through food security and income generation.
“We are thrilled to bring the Sonder Open to our community,” said Jason Sprenkle, co-founder and board treasurer of The Sonder Project. “This event combines our love for golf with a shared commitment to making a difference, and we’re grateful for the incredible support we’ve already received.”
Teams and a variety of sponsorship opportunities are still available for individuals and businesses looking to gain visibility while supporting a meaningful cause.
