“Walk Her Way” Raises Over $30,000

Everyone knows about our gorgeous beaches, world-class architecture, fun beach towns, the arts, music and exciting events that take place along this stretch of paradise. But, one of the things that makes 30A an extra special place to live, work, and play is the overwhelming community spirit and generosity that’s found here. Anytime there’s a call to support a need or good cause, 30A locals “step up” without hesitation and take on the challenge with gusto (and in this case, high heels… keep reading).

Friday, June 7th in Rosemary Beach was no different, when that strong community spirit was prominently on display during WALK HER WAY, a fun event where all locals put on high heels and strut their way through town to raise awareness about domestic violence.

For the second year in a row, the Rosemary Beach Foundation partnered with Shelter House — a state certified domestic violence center that serves Okaloosa and Walton Counties — to host the event. The shared purpose of Rosemary Beach Foundation and Shelter House with WALK HER WAY is two-fold — to create a fun way to raise funds to support the missions of both organizations and, even more importantly, to do something that heightens community awareness of domestic violence.

With the support of 32 sponsors, this fun event took on a carnival/street parade atmosphere as teams and individuals donned fun costumes and high heels and took to the streets of Rosemary Beach for a 1.5 mile stroll through town.

Larry Davis, the Broker/Owner of Davis Properties in Seagrove was a sponsor of the event and drove his vintage Camaro as the lead car for the parade through town.

The event raised over $30,000 to support both organizations in their respective missions and community outreach.
