Skip the Stress, Catch the Tram!
Photos by Ragan Smith Getting around Scenic Highway 30A just became a little easier. Beginning March 1, 2026, Walton County’s Tourism Development Council introduced a new complimentary Beach Tram service designed to help visitors and locals alike enjoy the area with less traffic and more time by the water.
Running daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the trams connect central parking locations with several popular regional beach accesses, making it simple to park once and explore the coast at your own pace.
For even more places to leave the car and start your beach day, check out our handy guide to parking on 30A.
The 393 Municipal Parking Facility (1668 S County Hwy 393) offers direct service to Ed Walline Regional Beach Access every 10 minutes, along with a westbound route to Dune Allen and Fort Panic Regional Beach Accesses every 15 minutes.
A second hub, the Grayton Beach Municipal Parking Facility—also known as Grayton Central (1505 S County Hwy 283)—provides service to Hotz and Garfield Beach Accesses every 10 minutes, with an additional westbound route connecting to Blue Mountain Beach, Gulfview Heights, and the 393 Municipal Parking Facility at 15-minute intervals.
Walton County will begin paid parking at the Van Ness Butler Municipal, County Road 393 Municipal, and Grayton Beach Municipal parking facilities starting April 3, 2026, to help ensure the long-term upkeep of public facilities. The county is offering Walton County residents an annual parking permit for just $5 per year. Residents may apply for this permit at www.parkwaltonco.org.

Looking ahead, a third location at the Driftwood Road Municipal Parking Facility will expand the service further, connecting riders to Miramar Regional Beach Access and Scenic Gulf Drive.
Funded by the Tourist Development Tax, the program encourages a relaxed “park once” approach, allowing visitors to spend less time navigating traffic and more time enjoying the beaches, communities, and scenic beauty of 30A.
