Of course, the beach is the big draw … the breeze in your hair, the sand between your toes and that beautiful blue-green water of the Gulf of Mexico.
But, sometimes, you need some sports in your life, too.
Not to worry! South Walton has plenty of beachside spots to catch your favorite team anytime of year.
Shades Bar & Grill
Shades Bar & Grill has been serving South Walton sports fans for over 20 years. The bar, located right off U.S. Highway 98 in Inlet Beach, boasts 18 screens, including one HD projector. They have all the sporting networks: NFL network, NBA network, NHL, SEC, Big 10… you name it.
A special indoor game area for the kids makes this place a family-friendly spot for watching games during the day. They have some cornhole boards and a few televisions outside as well.

Another unique offering is their UFC fight nights, which they screen for free with no cover charge.
Shades’ menu features an extensive draft beer selection, including craft brews, and a wide variety of lunch and dinner items.
One of South Walton’s newer developments, The Hub has something for everyone — and that’s especially true for sports fans. Major games are screened on their 25-foot Jumbotron in front of a large green lawn, perfect for enjoying a beautiful day while cheering on your favorite team.
The complex also features 7 restaurants where you can grab your food to go and enjoy it in the covered picnic area or on the lawn. Choose from burgers, hot dogs, pizza, barbecue and more. The place is really kid-friendly too, with plenty of room for the little ones to run around and play.
And for the adults there’s a full bar and even Shore Thing Cigars, a cigar lounge and shop.
At Local Catch, even the employees are HUGE sports fans so you know they get hyped up for the games. The bar is lined with HD tvs and they even have a large screen on their covered porch outside.
Football season is big, with football game day specials and celebrations all fall. Local Catch has the NFL package so they can play any game you want to see and they feature college games as well. During any football game and during the March Madness NCAA tournament, they throw in 75-cent wings, just to sweeten the deal. Can’t beat that.
If you like your sports with high-end beers and craft cocktails, then The Craft Bar 30A is your spot. Bartenders mix creative cocktails using craft spirits combined with house-made mixes. Their cocktail menu is always evolving with innovative creations that change with the seasons. Their craft beer selection includes some rare beers that can’t be found anywhere else in Northwest Florida.
Deemed a ‘gastropub’, the bar also features a chef-inspired tavern menu of gourmet burgers, dinner plates, appetizers and desserts. Pull up a seat at the main bar or in one of the side bars and indulge while you cheer on your favorite team.
