Friends Create Ready-to-Serve Cocktail Line with Local Flavor

Posted Jan 7, 2014

Bottle_850_landscape_580The CHASTE Company — a new crafted-spirits company founded by long-time friends and locals Bess Grasswick and Ricky Fannin — recently introduced its first line of ready-to-serve premium cocktails with the release of CHASTE No. 850.

Fannin, a bartender at a small luxury resort on Florida’s Emerald Coast, created CHASTE No. 850 — then known as “The Ricky” — to give his customers a sophisticated alternative to the typical beach cocktail.

“The Ricky” quickly developed a cult following among locals and visitors alike, so Grasswick and Fannin decided to bottle the drink, creating a ready-to-serve cocktail that doesn’t sacrifice taste and craftsmanship for convenience.

“Our goal is to give people the opportunity to enjoy a properly made drink without having to spend a lot of time behind a bar,” said Fannin.

Fannin said that the name “CHASTE No. 850” represents the pure, unspoiled beauty of the Emerald Coast and the entire “850” area code region. At 17 percent alcohol by volume (34 proof), CHASTE No. 850 is an infusion of classic tropical flavors of coconut and pineapple, with bright citrus notes that reinforce the balance of the premium rum blend.

The new cocktail drink is now available in many locations, including locally at WaterColor Inn & Resort, Emerald Coast Wine & Spirits, The Emerald Grande, The Chill Bar and Package Store in Defuniak Springs, The Backporch, Marina Café, Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge in Panama City Beach, and the Walmart Liquor Store in Santa Rosa Beach, among many others.

The founders said that they plan to launch a full product line of other ready-to-serve alcohol-based crafted spirits soon.
