Popular restaurant owner, cookbook author and television star Chef Emeril Lagasse will make a special guest appearance at the 2014 South Walton Beaches Wine & Food Festival on Saturday, April 26.

Chef Lagasse is the founder of the Emeril Lagasse Foundation, which supports culinary arts and education for children. He is donating his time to South Walton Beaches Wine & Food Festival, proceeds of which will benefit Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation.

The 2013 James Beard Foundation Humanitarian of the Year will sit down for a fun, informal interview with wine and media celebrity Cristina Mariani-May, CEO of Banfi Vintners, with introductions from Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

In addition to his guest appearance at the festival, Chef Lagasse is attending the DCWAF live auction, where he is generously donating and presenting a live auction item sure to generate keen interest from bidding patrons. The proceeds will help support local children’s charities of the DCWAF.

More than 800 of the world’s finest wines will be poured and dozens of celebrity winemakers will be on hand at this event to be held in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin. The Savor South Walton Culinary Village will offer delectable foods designed to complement wine, craft beer and spirits and live entertainment round out this four-day extravaganza.

The festival is being presented by Visit South Walton Tourist Development Council and Wine Enthusiast Magazine, while Wyndham Vacation Rentals is the official lodging partner.
