Trying to work on your tan? Or maybe you just want to experience the world in a very natural way. If you’ve nodded your head, then you may enjoy this selection of nude beaches in the United States. These destinations are each unique and a great way to enjoy what the beach has to offer without having to worry about bringing along a bathing suit.
Those who have visited nude beaches continue to say they are places free from guilt and judgment. Bring good sunscreen and dive right in!
1. Collins Beach, Oregon
Situated on Sauvie Island, Collins Beach is one of the only nude beaches in the state of Oregon. It’s a quiet spot next to the Columbia River and is surrounded by a thick forest. It’s a great place to relax and isn’t difficult to get to.
2. Apollo Beach, Florida
Hidden on the southern end of the Canaveral National Seashore is Apollo Beach. When you arrive, you’ll find that it’s a very peaceful place and only a few people tend to be around. You can lie on the soft sand scattered with colorful seashells while gazing out at the roaring ocean.
Better yet, this beach features magnificent sand dunes you can explore while you work on your tan.
3. Gunnison Beach, New Jersey
As the only legal nude beach in New Jersey, Gunnison Beach is a very popular spot for those in The Garden State. You’ll be able to sit back and relax while listening to the water rush by you and seeing Piping Plovers hopping around on the sand.
4. Secret Beach, Hawaii
Known locally as Kauapea Beach, this Hawaiian beach is located near Kalihiwai Bay, making it the ultimate tropical getaway. Secret Beach is divided into two parts: the clothing and nude section. The nude section is located on the eastern side of the beach and is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
The beach is surrounded by towering cliffs dotted with palm trees and you might occasionally see a dolphin or whale pop up from the ocean waters nearby.
Secret Beach is also located near a bird sanctuary so you’ll be able to listen to the distinctive calls of native birds.
5. Secret Cove, Nevada
Secret Cove is situated on the shores of Lake Tahoe. It’s an unspoiled spot which is evident with its translucent water and clean sand. As you sunbathe in the sun you’ll be able to view the marvelous landscape around you which features boulders of various shapes scattered acrossthe sand and in the water and cliffs covered in towering pine trees.
6. Moshup Beach, Massachusetts
Moshup Beach is located on the shores of Martha’s Vineyard and is an incredible place to enjoy the natural beauty of the beach and ocean. At first, you’ll come across the “clothing-needed” section of this beach. However, the further you venture down the beach the sooner you’ll come across the nude-friendly section. Here you’ll find ancient clay cliffs, flourishing seagrass, massive boulders scattered throughout the sand and water, and even a view of the nearby Gay Head Lighthouse.
7. Haulover Beach, Florida
Haulover Beach is one of the most popular nude beaches in the U.S. Stretching over half a mile long in Miami-Dade County, it’s nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. Equipped with plenty of picnic areas and other helpful amenities, this beach is surrounded by magnificent sand dunes.
8. Kehena Beach, Hawaii
This nude beach in Hawaii is a stunning destination to explore. Not only does it give you amazing views of the Pacific Ocean, but the sand is tinted with a black coloring which gives incredible contrast to the surrounding scenery.
You’ll also find plenty of palm trees and fragrant flowers bordering it which makes this the ultimate nude beachgoers paradise.
All of these places are phenomenal destinations for those who want to have a little more freedom when visiting the beach. Each of these beaches will allow visitors to not only work on achieving a full body tan, but enjoy unique landscapes and areas of the beach many don’t often get to see and experience. Remember, blushing is optional.
9. UFO Beach, Texas
UFO Beach gets its name after a UFO-like machine washed up on its sands many years ago. Today, you can still see this UFO resting in the sand and signs on it alert you that you’re about to enter its nude beach section.
Part of South Padre Island, UFO Beach is one of the most popular nude beaches in Texas, although it’s not an official nude beach in the state. It’s situated over a 12-mile stretch and has plenty of cliffs and boulders you can sunbathe on or explore.
10. San Gregorio, California
This 2-mile long beach is one of the oldest nude beaches in the U.S. It’s surrounded by cliffs and features numerous secret caves you can explore. There is an admission fee to get into this private beach, but it’s well worth paying to see its incredible scenery.
