South Walton is well known for its beaches and coastal dune lakes; however, salt water isn’t the only liquid we’re good for. Scenic 30-A is also home to an extremely creative slough of mixologists. Here is a list of 12 of our favorites:
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof Martini, Fish Out of Water. A favorite of loyal patrons, this martini combines Cat-Head honeysuckle vodka, lemon, jalapeno, and mint.
The Local Catch, Local Catch Bar & Grill. This favored local hangout has come up with a short-and-sweet, soul-sipping take on the Arnold Palmer: a shake-up of Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea vodka and lemonade with a sugar rim.
Seaside Punch, Bud & Alley’s. This smooth blend of Stoli vodka, apple, peach and black raspberry puree, pineapple juice and house-made sour mix is a perfect beach-side thirst-quencher.
Elderspice Martini, Caliza. A mix of Svedka vodka, St. Germain, elder flower liquor, sliced jalapeno, and lime juice.
La Paloma, The Bay. This mixes Patron Silver Tequila, home-made grapefruit syrup, Brut Rose Champagne, Grand Marnier, and agave nectar.
The Dragon, Borago. This fiery concoction is a blend of Breckenridge Bourbon, fresh orange juice, fresh lemon juice, Angostura Orange Bitters with a house-made Orange cello floater.
Seagrove Beach Breeze, Café Thirty-A. This signature cocktail contains Smirnoff Cranberry, Hiram Walker Peach Schnapps, cranberry juice, and orange juice.
Choose-Your-Own Mojito, Great Southern Café. Here you can add your own spin on the traditional mix of rum, lime, and fresh mint by adding your choice of Strawberry, Guava, Coconut, Mango, Cherry, Melon, Pineapple or Peach puree.
The Corita, Louis Louis. This signature cocktail, named after Louis Louis’ famous patron, World Champion Trick Skier Cory Pickos, is a mix of Patron Silver Tequila, fresh lime juice, Agave nectar and Orange Juice, topped with Grand Marnier, and a salted rim.
Fire and Ice Margarita, La Cocina Mexican Grill & Bar. This margarita puts a spicy spin on refreshing, blending Sriracha, muddled cucumber, agave nectar, fresh-squeezed lime juice, tequila and triple sec into one tasty, frozen fix.
Paradis Martini, Restaurant Paradis. serves their original . Pearl pomegranate vodka steeped with a white tea lavender–citrus infusion.
Angel Flight, 723 Whiskey Bravo. is a heavenly concoction of Angel’s Envy Whiskey (a Kentucky bourbon, aged in port wine barrels), honey, ginger beer, and fresh lime.
