Sunsets and 30A. Whether you’re a local, visitor, or admirer from afar, you know these two things to go together like happy hour and a darn good time. There’s just something about taking in a beautifully technicolor sky announcing the day’s end that washes away your worries with the tide and makes you feel like all is well and good in the world. Because here on 30A, chances are, it is.
With this in mind, we gathered up a few favorite local spots to take in the sunset.
“Nice dogs and friendly folks.” Grayton Beach welcomes one and all to its white sandy shores, even permitted beach cars for a few lucky ones. Pop open the tailgate or lay down a beach towel, and get ready for a sunset to remember.
There’s even a chance you might catch the Grayton Volleyball folks and join in a fun pickup game with the setting sun as your backdrop.
We have one word for you: rooftop. Enjoy stellar Gulf views and casual fine dining with one of the best rooftop spots on 30A. Located in the heart of Rosemary Beach, this not-to-be missed spot offers punchy cocktails and eclectic cuisine featuring raw bar eats, small bites to share, and fan favorites like their paella and Chef’s Feast.
For those looking to switch up their sunset spot for a good read and even better company, join Sundog Books for their new Sunset Book Club. They meet at Black Bear Bread Co. on the last Thursday of the month to discuss Reese Witherspoon’s latest book club pick.
TIP: Missing the beach? Tune in to our LIVE Beach Cams and enjoy the view!
With one of 30A’s most expansive Gulf views, watching the sunset from Watercolor Inn’s newly renovated spot is hard to beat. Following a complete redesign and menu revamp, the restaurant formally known as Fish Out of Water has reopened as FOOW (foo).
FOOW offers fresh, coastal cuisine and sweeping gulf views.
As the 2019 winner of the 30A Hot Spot Award for Outdoor Dining, let’s face it, a 30A sunset roundup would not be complete without this beloved staple. Founded in 1987 and located in the heart of Seaside, Bud and Alley’s is as classic as it gets, serving up casual dining and breathtaking sunset views to generations of locals and visitors alike.
