Interested candidates must be in good physical shape and able to complete a 500-meter swim in less than 10 minutes and a 1.2-mile beach run in less than 12 minutes.
Tryouts begin on January 11, 2015.
Upon employment, lifeguards must complete the South Walton Fire District’s 40-hour open water lifeguard orientation course and emergency medical responder CPR course, which will be held on February 22.
Applicants also must:
● be at least 18 years of age
● have a high school diploma
● be able to work weekends and public holidays
● successfully complete a background check and drug screening
● possess a valid driver’s license
Entry level pay is $13 per hour for a 40 hour work week.
