Situated right in the heart of 30A’s Gulf Place community, Skunk Gulley Oyster Bar has become a real staple of laid-back dining on this stretch of paradise, and once you’ve tried it yourself, it’s easy to see why.

Named after the legendary reef just off the coast, this 30A hotspot offers panoramic views of the expansive Gulf from three sides. At Shunk (as locals affectionately refer to it), you could stay for hours just for the scenery… especially if you have one of their specialty drinks, a great glass of wine or a cold beer in front of you. But, don’t go thinking it’s all about the coastal views and great libations, because at Shunk Gulley the food is top-notch too.

If oysters are your goal, you’re sure to find the just-right half or dozen here. From Chipotle BBQ to the naked fresh Gulf variety, Shunk has got you covered. I personally love their Cheddar Jalapenos for just the right kick, alongside a cold 30A Beach Blonde Ale. And if you’re into fries, you have to try theirs. Trust me, just do it.

For a little fancier dinner flair, you can always opt for the Grouper, Smoked Pork Chop or Fresh Gulf Catch daily, and you can always count on it being just right. When it comes to food and service, the professional service team at Shunk Gulley know a thing or two about restaurants. Thanks in part to owners John McInnis and Cameron Price, who just so happen to be the proprietors of the world-famous Flora-Bama too.

Shunk Gulley also hosts live music many nights, in season, as well as having outdoor event space for private functions, and larger music and entertainment events, including being a venue for the now-famous 30A Songwriters Festival that happens each winter along these shores.
