We caught up with 30A local Shannon Kramolis of Studio Thirty-A to ask about her favorite spots around town.
1. Where do you go when you need some quality me-time?
On a long beach walk. We are so lucky to live near Topsail Hill Preserve State Park where I can walk alongside the dunes and, on some days, not see anything but sea oats and clear blue water. Nothing calms and fills me with gratitude like a long walk barefoot in the sand.
2. What’s your favorite way to stay fit on 30A?
Yoga at
Studio Thirty-A of course! I have been a student of Laura Bailey Yoga for almost 8 years and there is no better way to give both your body and soul a workout… or should I say work-in!
3. What’s something you’re looking forward to?
Beach weather! What makes 30A so special is the attire the weather allows us to wear! Cut-off shorts, Beach Happy t-shirt and flip flops are my preferred uniform on any given day. I can’t wait to be back in my favorite clothes and be sun-kissed from a day on the beach!
4. According to you, which local spot or activity is underrated?
Eden Gardens State Park. It really is a magical place! I was lucky enough to teach yoga classes there this fall and it reminded me just how special it is. Those trees and the bay are truly enchanting.

5. What’s your favorite month on 30A? And why?
October! My husband
Chris and I were married in
Seagrove Beach in October of 2000 so it has always been a special month for us here on 30A. The weather is perfect, the crowds have died down, the water is still warm and the sun is still shining. There isn’t much that compares to an October day at
Grayton Beach that lasts far past sunset, includes a
bonfire, and plenty of stargazing.
BONUS: What are your favorite local spots?
Two of my favorites pair well together. An afternoon in Seaside is made complete with a bite to eat and an ice-cold draft beer from Charlie at Modica Market followed by a short stroll for a long visit at Central Square Records. There isn’t a cooler store than Central Square. Need a favorite coffee mug, a super funny greeting card or the newest or oldest vinyl? They’ve got you covered. Tom, Jenny, and Ed have really created a unique place to hang but then again, they are pretty unique and cool themselves.
For the Health of It also tops my list. Ed Berry is possibly the nicest guy you’ll ever meet and you feel it the moment you enter the store. Whether for a fresh juice, locally made soap or all the vegan items you can’t find anywhere else – For The Health of It has you covered. We are very lucky to have so many unique local businesses with great local owners that help make 30A one of the best communities to live and raise a family!
