How to Celebrate Halloween on 30A

Halloween is a favorite holiday in South Walton and although a lot of events stand canceled due to the pandemic (BOO!!) this year, there are still plenty of events — from family-friendly festivals to crazy, adults-only costume parties — you can choose from.

Here are the most sought-after Halloween events in 2020:

Thursday, October 29

6:30 pm: Free movie screening at The Village of Baytowne Wharf 

Grab your lawn chairs and head out to enjoy the movie Hocus Pocus that’s sure to put you in the Halloween spirit!

Friday, October 30

7 a.m.:  Witches of South Walton Ride 

The Witches of South Walton is an organization dedicated to supporting the Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN) as part of that mission will host the 17th Annual Witch Ride with changes in place for 2020. On October 30, Founders Ride commences at 7 am, and post-ride gathering at Shunk Gulley. there’s also a Sunset Ride at 5:30 pm. Click here for details.



5 pm – 9 pm: Hub-O-ween, Trick O’ Treatin’ & More at The Hub

Join in for a lot of Halloween fun at The Hub: Trick or Treating will begin at 5 p.m. while Pumpkin Decorating ($5/person) will go on from 5-7 p.m. After that, the place will turn into a big Dance Party with DJ Whitty playing cool tunes. For more info, click here.

8 p.m. – 11 p.m.: Halloween Masker-Aid at Old Florida Fish House

Join us for this spooktacular, adults-only, costume contest and party benefiting Save The Closet. More info here.

8 p.m. – 12 a.m.: Annual Halloween Bash at Local Catch Bar & Grill

Come and be a part of the Halloween Scare & Costume Party with DJ 30A. Don your scariest costume and you could win cash and prizes. DRINK DANCE & BE SCARY!

9 p.m. – 2 a.m.: Halloween Bash at Louis Louis

Michael Disciple will be DJ’ing, the drinks will be flowing, and there will, of course, be a costume contest! So come dressed in your best, and be ready to party!

Saturday, October 31

10:30 a.m.:  Witches of South Walton Ride 



The Witches of South Walton are set to ride in the 17th Annual Witch Ride this October with changes in place for 2020. On October 31, witches commence the Goblin Ride, post-ride at Perfect Pig, Gulf Place. Click here for details.

1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Halloween Fest at Old Florida Fish House

Calling all boos & ghouls to join the fun at this family-friendly Halloween festival! Activities include: Bag decorating, Pumpkin Painting, Witches’ Hat Ring Toss, Candy Cornhole, Trick or Treating (4 p.m. – 5 p.m.), & MORE!

6 p.m.: Annual Rocky Horror Halloween at Redd’s Fueling Station

It’s te to do the Time Warp Again! Watch a spooky movie at 8 pm. on the big screen and all the TVs. Prizes for best Rocky Horror costumes and all other costumes. Plus there’s live music, dinner specials and more.

6 p.m.: Halloween Bash At Chiringo

Groove with The Shakedown in your spookiest costume! (Make yours the craziest and walk away with a $500 prize!).

6 p.m. – 8 p.m.: Trick or Treat Street at Baytowne Wharf Events Plaza

The public is invited to the Village of Baytowne Wharf for a fun night of trick or treating! Attendants will stroll through the Village streets in their spookiest costume and visit merchants for treats. Steve Hall will play music on the main stage, and Coconut Kidz will be offering a free face painting and entry into a costume contest. The night will end with a firework display at 8 p.m.

9 p.m.: Halloween Costume Contest at AJ’s Grayton Beach

Win cash $500 prize for the best costume, drink specials, and music by Luke Langford Band and DJ Charles at one of the coolest parties out there!

7 p.m. – 10 p.m.: Halloween Night at Old Florida Fish House

It’s time to get your freak on… with DJ Spooky, who will spin some Halloween tracks!
